Saturday, March 9, 2002 -- EASTHAMPTON - Henry A. Picard, 84, of Gross Lane, Easthampton, died March 8 in the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation for Northampton.
He was born March 10, 1917, in Easthampton, the son of the late George and Marion (Canfield) Picard.
He was a 37-year member of the Easthampton Police Auxiliary.
He had been a member of the Republican Town Committee and the Hampshire County Republican Committee.
He worked as an auctioneer. He also had been a supervisor at the Lesnow Manufacturing Co. in Easthampton, retiring in 1982. He previously was employed at the former Hampden Specialty Products, also in Easthampton.
He leaves his wife, Leona (Tetreault) Picard, three sons, Donald H. Picard of Edgewater, Fla., Normand A. Picard of Chicopee, and Ronald Picard of Springfield; a daughter, Therese Carey of Easthampton; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Notre Dame Church, 35 Pleasant St., Easthampton, 01027.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. in the Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Easthampton.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
