Notes for Jean Lentze
John Lentze was a Hessian Soldier who came to Quebec in 1776 to fight in the American Revolution on behalf of King George lll, King of England. After the war ended in 1783 he decided to remain in Quebec. On his marriage document in 1790 Vaudreuil, Quebec, his name was entered as Jean Linse/Lins, which appears to be a French interpretation of John (Johann) Lentze.
